Still no pictures....
Just wanted to update everybody on how Gavin is doing. i am almost %100 convinced that he has Celiac Sprue. This is a disease that causes him to be allergic to gluten and wheat plus their counterparts such as barley and rye. Basically, he can't eat regular bread, pastas, cookies, chips, cakes etc..... the good news is that this may expain why he isn't talking yet and the condition is very manageable with a special gluten free diet. We also have a great resource in his Aunt Annie, who is also a Celiac. The diagnosis isn't confirmed yet. We still have to take him to a pediatric GI specialist who will run some more tests. But, as I was researching, I came across an article that described Gav almost word for word. We also have him on a Gluten Free diet right now, and since we started it, he is like somebody else's kid. I have never seen him act so silly and be so happy!! Of course, he is still 2 years old and has his moments, but I see improvement in his demeanor every day! HOORAY!!! Maybe that means I am not a terrible mom after all! Anyhoo, just wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We will continue to keep you updated!

Oh that is great news that he's feeling better! Ya know, I really almost hope it is celiac just b/c all you have to do is put him on the diet and he'll be 100% better!! I can help you with anything you need! I even have a gf play dough recipe. =)I really wished that someone could've helped me when I was diagnosed, so I'll do whatever I can to help you! I work w/ a DR at work who's daughter was just diagnosed...I'll forward you the email I sent to his wife just in case it's helpful. We're excited to see you guys and Otis when we get home from NYC!
